Reception class enjoyed a sunny day out with the animals at Cannon Hall Farm. They went on a tractor ride around the newest part of the farm. Most of the class said they liked the baby piglets and the tractor ride best of all. The class were lucky to stroke guinea-pigs and a rabbit and everyone fed the cows in their special round house. Our guide Tracey helped show us round and explained how the animals are looked after. The children discussed that eggs come from chickens, milk from cows and bacon from pigs and that sheep provide wool to make clothes. On our return to school we included the animals in our prayer before lunch.
Our visit gave the children a first hand experience of a farm and the class are now writing and painting pictures about their day out.
