Welcome back to the new school year!
Mr. Beecroft and Mrs. Aston are really looking forward to a great year in Y5 and hope you are too. We hope you have had a great summer and are excited about the interesting work, challenges and extra responsibility that Y5 will bring.
As ever, there will be an opportunity and expectation to undertake Home Learning as the term progresses. This will include reading, practice of basic skills and topic research.
P.E. lessons are timetabled for Tuesdays and Wednesdays this year, but it’s always best to bring P.E. kit on Monday, for the week, in case of any changes due to courses, visits and absences.
V.E. Day Street Party!
This term we will be working towards creating our very own V.E. Day ‘Street’ Party! Of course, in order to do this we will need to find out all about what V.E. Day was, what led up to it and how it was celebrated! We begin our topic in earnest on Monday the 9th September with our trip to Eden Camp – don’t forget we are being evacuated to North Yorkshire and it will be September 1939, so do your best to be dressed appropriately!
We look forward to welcoming you to our ‘new-look’ classroom (thanks Mr. Harrison!) on Wednesday morning, September 4th!
