Remote Learning 2020/21
In September 2020, all our classes returned to full-time education following the Covid 19 closure in March. Although we hope that the majority of our children will now have an uninterrupted experience, there is the possibility that an individual child, a class bubble, or indeed the whole school, will need to self-isolate for a period of time.
To do this as effectively as possible we have consulted with our parents and carers regarding the preferred form of remote learning. We are mindful that families face many challenges when it comes to home learning and the use of technology. Often, families have to share equipment which then hinders learning and creates further stress in the household at a difficult time.
As a result of our survey we have put in place a plan for paper-based remote learning so that all children can continue with their education. This meets the expectations set out in the DfE guidance ‘Remote Education Support’
In addition to this we will provide online learning links and opportunities for those families who wish to use it. We will do this through the COVID 19 – Remote Learning page on our website. This page will be used to keep parents up-to-date with important information regarding remote learning during absence from school.
On your child’s class page, you will find an overview of lessons to be completed each day linked specifically the curriculum expectations set by your class teacher.
It will provide learning across the curriculum and children will be expected to spend a similar amount of time completing this as they would spend learning in school.
