Starting school is a milestone, not just for your child but also for you. You may be excited about this step or feel a little apprehensive as your child takes their first steps towards independence.
At Parson Cross CE Primary School we aim to build a good relationship between home and school so that everyone involved can ensure that your child gets the very best from their time with us.
Please do not hesitate to contact the school office should you require any further information. Miss Ruel will be able to answer your questions or point you in the right direction.

Arrangements for September - New Starters
Dear Parents and Carers,
We hope you are all safe and well. We are really looking forward to welcoming all of our new reception children soon!
We previously sent you a letter, outlining what our usual transition process looks like. Unfortunately, nothing about this year has been usual due to the current Covid-19 situation and we know you and your little one might be feeling worried about the transition into reception this September.
However, we promise that we will make the transition as smooth and exciting as possible for our new children! We want to reassure you that we will work together to help your child settle happily in to school life.
Parents Welcome Meeting
Week commencing 1st September
A member of staff will be in touch to invite you to come along to our parent welcome meeting, this is a chance to find out more about our school, meet your child’s class teacher and key members of the team. You will also have the opportunity to order uniform etc if you have not already done so. In the current circumstances, so that we can facilitate social distancing, only one adult per child will be able to attend and each adult will be required to wear a face mask. Please note this event is for adults only- children will have their own opportunity to meet us the following week.
Transition visits for children
Children will be invited into school to attend all three afternoons so that they can become familiar with staff and their classmates before starting with us full time on Monday 28th September.
Wednesday 9th September 1.30pm – 3.30pm
Wednesday 16th September 1.30pm- 3.30pm
Wednesday 23rd September 1.30pm-3.30pm
These visits will be an opportunity for children to get to know their new classmates and their new teachers. It will also be a valuable opportunity to get to know the children, establish good relationships and enable them to feel confident in their new environment.
Begin full-time school
Monday 28th September – begin full-time.
We look forward to welcoming you all to our school in September. If you have any questions in the meantime- please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
With very best wishes
